Yet another Indonesian band with a hip and slick sound, Jakarta trio Monkey to Millionaire’s recalls the jaunty strumming of 90s indie rock bands like the Pixies plus strong nods to angular post-punk melodies, a sound that has dragged them from the fringes of the bubbling Indonesian indie scene to the top of the increasingly crowded ladder.

With Wisnu Bramono Adji (vocals, guitar), Agan Sudrajat (bass) and Emir Kharsadi (drums), big things are expected from this stylish threesome after the release of their impressive debut Lantai Merah in 2009. And they seem to have the gonads for the challenge.
