SMEK It started with a post-rock (lame, I know) outfit by the name of Sgt. Weener Arms with three other fellow college mates. We played gigs across Malaysia and Singapore; some notable ones were Unclogged (I miss it, badly), Baybeats 2005 and Radio Malaya. Briefly recruited by noisecore/tech grind act Custom Daisy as their vocalist, I then played bass for the Kuala Lumpur Post-Harmonic Quartet (KLPHQ). In 2005, emo violence heroes Utarid invited me on board as a guitarist, and we later toured Europe with Am I Dead Yet from Belgium–made possible by React with Protest Records. We played alongside Against Me!, Caliban and Louise Cyphere, to name a few. In 2006, Killeur Calculateur was formed. We started out playing studio shows, put out some releases–including a 7” split with Trifle Tower from Texas–toured with bands like Orbit Cinta Benjamin, Off Minor and My Disco, and opened for toe and Battles. I’d like to take this chance to give a shout-out to everyone that has helped me in every way from the start ‘til now. Salut dan terima kasih!
